Update on "The People's Palace" (aka The Cow Palace). SB-281 as currently written, would indeed ban gun shows, but it would also ban all of us… the over 200,000 annual visitors, performers, vendors, and event workers, many whom depend on the Cow Palace for their livelihood. Governor Newsom will certainly support a bill that bans gun shows, but the naked land grab lurking behind the gun show issue is wrong. Please call or write bill sponsor Senator Weiner’s office *today* at (415) 557-1300 with the following request: “Please rewrite bill SB-281 - to focus on gun shows only - there are other ways to create housing than to destroy the People's Palace.” Thank you.
